North Fork Roanoke Tree Planting

The photos to follow were taken by Lindsey Gilmer of NRV Master Naturalists at the planting!

We had a great group of folks at the planting on the North Fork of the Roanoke that took place on March 14th. Despite difficult weather conditions, about 15 NRVTU planters provided most of the labor to make the day an unqualified success for the N. Fork. Ned Yost asked me to pass along a note of thanks:

Todd,

Please convey our collective thanks to NRVTU for their remarkable turnout and great work last Saturday morning. Considering the inclement weather, that we were able to accomplish so much, was a great testimonial to TU's commitment.

Tight lines, Ned

From Ned Yost, owner of McDonalds Mill on the North Fork of the Roanoke River:

Please convey my warm thanks to all who turned out. And those who couldn't make it, they can join the party and admire the work.

What about coming here on Sunday afternoon, April 27th, and everyone brings their own picnic supper. I'll provide beverages, grilling facility, and weather permitting, smores for campfire after dinner. Mill and cabin provide refuge in event of rain.

By that date I expect to have stream stocked. I've copied Joe Williams to start stocking permit process.

TIght lines, Ned
